Ciro Totku, from Moskou to Sihanoukville
Born in Moscow, Ciro Totku’s first camera was given to him when he was ten. His father, an architect and designer, gave Ciro his first lessons, though Ciro never went on to formally study art at school. However, Ciro studied mathematics at the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology. At the age of 21 he left Moscow to finish his studies in Paris at the Paris Dauphine University. After serval years he returned to Moscow and worked as an IT consultant. During his vacations he would travel a lot, and has visited at least 50 countries, and fell in love with Asia. He married and had three children, and moved to Cambodia after living in Moscow became ‘too unbearable’.
Since 2004 Totku lives and works in the small coastal city of Sihanoukville, and runs his own design and advertising agency, Queel. (source: Text: http://www.allaboutartschools.com, photographs: http://www.totku.com/ )
